Exporting SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Projects
You can export SolidWorks Workgroup PDM projects to move them to another Workgroup PDM vault or to a SolidWorks Enterprise PDM vault. The document metadata is exported to an encrypted file in XML format.
Prerequisites
Verify the following:

Workgroup PDM is at SW2007 SP2 or higher.

Workgroup PDM API for SW2007 or higher is installed.

Toolbox is installed, if there are toolbar components in the vault.
Before you export a Workgroup PDM project:

In the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Vault Admin, on the Projects tab, under Project permissions, select Administrators have RW access to all projects. Don’t show administrators below, and click Apply.

On the Standard Libraries tab, under Additional Toolbox and Standard Library root level folders, ensure that you have access to a folder path to a Toolbox library. If necessary, click Add, add a path, and click Apply.

Click OK.

Ensure that all working directory documents from the projects that will be exported have been checked in.

Backup the vault.

Copy the backup vault to the destination server.
To export a project:

In Windows, navigate to <install_dir>Vault.
For example, c:Program FilesSolidWorks CorpSolidWorks Workgroup PDMVault.

Double-click pdmwexport.exe.

Log in using a Workgroup PDM administrator account.

In the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Export dialog box, select the projects to export and clear the projects you do not want to export.
Use Select All and Clear All to make the selection process easier.

If you want to export only the latest revisions, select Export only latest revisions.

Click Go.

Review the export information in the Summary dialog box. To save it to a file, click Output to File, select a location and specify a file name, and click Save.

Click Close.
The metadata is exported to the following file:
<vault_install_directory>VaultDatapdmrcexport.bin

Send the export.bin file to the destination vault administrator.
