Bulk Check In
Check in a large number of files at one time to a project. You access this dialog box from the VaultAdmin Projects tab.
-
All files in a given bulk check-in operation must be checked into the same project.
-
Files that are open in SolidWorks or are read-only cannot be checked in.
-
Files that already exist in the vault in another project are not checked in.
-
The bulk check-in action, including any errors, is logged in the bulk check-in report.
Files
To check in files:
-
Select files under Local drives.
You can select a folder to add all the files in the folder and all the files in its subfolders.
To filter by file type, select a type from Add files of type. To specify a type not in the list, select Other Types of Files as Specified Below and enter a type in Other types.
To include referenced files when specifying a parent file, select Add referenced files.
-
Click Add files to list to move the files into the list to check in.
-
Under List of files to Check In:
-
Select files by clicking on the sequence number (an arrow appears).
-
Click Select All and Clear All to aid the selection process.
-
Click Remove Selected or Remove All to remove files from the list.
-
Double-click any column header to sort the list by that column.
-
Click Property Mappings to map document properties from another application (SolidWorks, OLE, or AutoCAD) to SolidWorks Workgroup PDM properties.
-
Specify options as described below, then click Check In Files to check in the selected files.
Project
Select a project from the Name list. The project’s Parent and Description are displayed.
Create/use subprojects for subfolders. Subfolders on disk become subprojects in Workgroup PDM.
Options
Retain ownership. The administrator checking in the documents retains ownership in the vault.
Note. Edit the default note. Click Default Note to return to the default.
Revisions
Select one:
-
Default. The next revision for each document.
-
Read from the property/attribute. Read the Revision value from the property (SolidWorks and OLE documents) or attribute (AutoCAD documents) in the file.
When the Revision value is read from the document property, the revision level must be a valid level in the vault revision scheme, and the revision level cannot have been used previously. If the detected revision level is not valid, Workgroup PDM reverts to the Default.
-
Use. Select a revision from the vault scheme to apply to all the documents.
-
Other. Type a revision.
Lifecycle Status
If Lifecycle is enabled for the project, a column in the list of documents displays lifecycle status and these lifecycle options are available if the current vault administrator has permission to specify lifecycle status. Select one:
-
Default. The next lifecycle status for each document.
-
Read from file property/attribute. Read the Lifecycle value from the property (SolidWorks and OLE documents) or attribute (AutoCAD documents) in the file.
When the Lifecycle value is read from the document property, the status must be a valid level in the vault lifecycle scheme. If the detected lifecycle status is not valid, Workgroup PDM reverts to the Default.
-
Use. Select a lifecycle status from the vault lifecycle to apply to all the documents.
Report
Report file. The bulk check-in procedure generates a report to the specified file. Edit the path and file name, or browse to a folder. Click Default Report File to return to the default.
