Find/Select

You can search for text in list boxes and columns (in dialog boxes such as Reporting, the expanded view of SolidWorks Explorer, etc.).

To search for data in a list box or column:

  1. Double-click the header, or right-click it and select Find/Select.

  2. In the Find/Select dialog box, choose search criteria as described below.

  3. Click Find.

    The first occurrence of the search text is highlighted.

  4. Continue to click Find to locate other occurrences of the search text.

Search criteria

  • Search. Displays the column header.

  • for. Type the text to be located.

  • Direction. Choose Backward, Forward, or Select all matches (available in Reporting).

  • When selecting. First unselect all is available when you choose Select all matches. Check item(s) and Uncheck item(s) are available when the list box contains check boxes (in the Get Local Copy and Open Document dialog box, for example).

  • Options. Choose Ignore case or Exact match, or both.
